The Ritz is nationally renowned for the extremely high standard of our Tap Dancers. We teach the CSTD Tap Syllabus and have had great success with these exams as well as performances and competitions over the years. Many of the top tappers in the country (including members of Dein Perry's Tap Dogs) have taught our students over the years. In 2007, 2008 & 2010, it was Ritz Tap students who took out the coveted Gwen Mackey Tap Trophy for the highest exam marks in Queensland for the Prestigious Gold Cross Stage Examination. In 2011, we will continue the tradition of hosting masterclasses with Professional Tap Dancers and choreographers. In 2009, we launched our first Professional Song & Tap Group for Corporate and Event work. They have done many gigs so far and are already making quite a name for themselves in the local corporate & entertainment scene. Toddlerdance and Pre-Junior students start Tap technique training incorporated into their classes right from the start but the first grade is usually taken in the year that your child turns 6 years. They can then work through the grades up to professional dancer/teacher levels at about the age of 18-20 years. All of our Tap exams Syllabi are recognised by Education Queensland and can help students who are in Yrs 11 and 12 at school with their Senior Certificates and Ops.
